The correlation function of radio sources
We investigate the large-scale clustering of radio sources in the Green Bank and ParkesMIT-NRAO 4.85GHz surveys by measuring the angular two-point correlation function w(θ). Excluding contaminated areas, the two surveys together cover 70 per cent of the whole sky. We find both surveys to be reasonably complete above 50mJy. On the basis of previous studies, the radio sources are galaxies and rad...
متن کاملEstimating the Number of Wideband Radio Sources
In this paper, a new approach for estimating the number of wideband sources is proposed which is based on RSS or ISM algorithms. Numerical results show that the MDL-based and EIT-based proposed algorithm havea much better detection performance than that in EGM and AIC cases for small differences between the incident angles of sources. In addition, for similar conditions, RSS algorithm offers hi...

متن کاملThe emission line – radio correlation for radio sources using the 7C Redshift Survey
We have used narrow emission line data from the new 7C Redshift Survey to investigate correlations between the narrow-line luminosities and the radio properties of radio galaxies and steep-spectrum quasars. The 7C Redshift Survey is a lowfrequency (151 MHz) selected sample with a flux-density limit about 25-times fainter than the 3CRR sample. By combining these samples, we can for the first tim...
متن کاملX-ray Radio Correlation In Black Hole Sources
We examine the X-ray radio correlation in Galactic black hole sources. We highlight some of the results which extend the flux-flux relations to sources with very high accretion rates. Some of the recent results indicate that the synchrotron process is unlikely to be the mechanism responsible for the X-ray emission, particularly at high accretion rates. We present a truncated accretion disk scen...
